7/14 updates

-made new flower icons
-updated item index to include new flowers
-expanded Cursed Forest and remapped it
-remade flower “events” to either do nothing, or become an item and then erase. (making them reset upon reentry to the forest)
-spent for-freak-ever going over the particulars of three different alchemy systems.
-finally just programmed the plants to regrow after five minutes myself
-tested
-works yay!
-re-populared new map with all flowers (10x each)
-added poison stinger and spider string to database/items
-made icons for them
-imported, updated database/items
-set up enemies to drop them
-looked into how to do a fishing/battle system
-watched youtube tutorial on how to work the system for fishing
-added fishing rod icon
-made a fishing sprite template
-this is slow going… made a Car fishing sprite

-crim and Twest done, but I’ve gotta take a break and do something else…

SS game update 7/7

Not much functional work today. Did a lot of sprite gathering and planning. A kind fellow on a message board sent me some sprites for things – which was awesome, and I’ve still got tabs open to grab Jeneeus’s alchemy system and Yanfly’s item requirement system (for potion bombers et al).

So today’s planning looked like this:

all of which make stew for food (HP, TP, MP all up).
-add fishing bounty (1) for the girls (Ti hates slimy fish)

-add an alchemy bounty (3) for crazy alchemy guy, so as to familiarize the player with the system.
-make flower & bug drops sellable to the singing potion girls, or the alchemist.
-make fish-tachi sellable for food at the restaurant? they need dropable items, I suppose…
-make sealife drops useable as food or as alchemy stuffs (likewise meat)

SS game update 7/4

So I shoulda had this out to beta testers yesterday, but we had a power outage. I went to send it today and thought, I’d better test it full myself, just in case…

And it was a good thing I did! There were three incidents that caused the game to crash! One was a misnamed image. One was a bit of old scripting. And one was a misordered command that transferred you first, before it had the chance to change the transparent option. (Resulting in invisible characters.)

So… Now it’s out and in the hands of three betas. Any other takers out there?

SS game update 4/30

Guess I fell out of the habit of updating.

Uro’s forest is done. The wolves and the treexies are programmed. The damn cat is programmed – which required getting a new piece of script since its event goes over six maps and if you exited, it reset itself abnormally. (Which meant I had to go back and edit the PREVIOUS cat.)

The interiors for the corner shops have been counted, laid out, and started. I need to customize their wares and NPCs – so that’s what I’m going to do before lunch. Then it’s a matter of setting up a conditional tree for finding this item for this person and that item for that person.

All while I’m fuming angry and listening to angry music and SITTING ON A FLOOR BECAUSE THERE’S A SQUATTER ON MY COUCH AND MY CHAIR HASN’T BEEN SEEN IN THREE YEARS. *swears and fumes away*
